Vac Manual

Terms of use

Using these guides

The guides on Vac Manual are general information for owners who choose to maintain their own vacuums. You do the work at your own risk. Before you start, check the steps and part numbers against your machine's label and the manufacturer's manual, which each guide links to. If anything on your vacuum looks different from what a guide describes, stop and contact the manufacturer.

Before you touch the vacuum

  • Unplug corded vacuums, and take cordless vacuums off the charger, before any maintenance.
  • Don't charge or use a battery that is swollen, cracked, leaking, hot or smells of burning. Take it to a battery recycling drop-off.
  • Don't open battery packs, chargers or motor housings.
  • Use genuine or safety-certified replacement batteries only.
  • Let washed filters dry completely before refitting them.

Warranty

Opening parts of a vacuum that the manufacturer doesn't expect owners to open, or fitting non-genuine parts, may affect your warranty. If your vacuum is still under warranty, contact the manufacturer first.

Accuracy and liability

We check part numbers and procedures against manufacturer documents and reputable parts retailers, but manufacturers revise parts and designs, and mistakes can happen. To the extent the law allows, Vac Manual isn't liable for damage, injury or loss arising from using the information here. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.

Trademarks

Dyson, Shark, Navigator, Lift-Away, Stratos, Vertex, iRobot and Roomba are trademarks of their respective owners. Vac Manual uses them only to identify which products a guide fits and isn't affiliated with any of these companies.
